Understanding Shoring
-
What is shoring?
Shoring is equipment that is used to provide temporary support and bracing to a trench or grave. Dependent on the ground type, weather conditions and size of the trench or grave, the relevant shoring is used to protect staff who are digging and also members of the public visiting. Shoring maintains the integrity of the trench or grave and reduces the risk of injury.
-
Why do we Shore?
“There’s no other industry in the world that would excavate a large trench or grave and then invite 30 plus members of the public to stand around it”
-
