About Us

The Teleshore Group of companies was originally founded in 1995 by two friends intent on improving cemetery safety.   Peter Smith came with an expertise in health and safety and jointly with Jim Thomson and his engineering background, Teleshore UK Ltd was born. 

Following the successful launch of industry first, cemetery specific shoring, Teleshore expanded their range of safety equipment to include graveside preparation equipment, burial chambers and lifting equipment.  Teleshore became a recognised voice, offering support and expertise to the bereavement service industry and has continued to grow from strength to strength. In 1999, Teleshore branched out into Crematoria consumables with the introduction of Gemini Crematoria supplies.  This solidified their commitment to British manufacturing and started their ethical supply chain journey. 

The Teleshore Group are continually seeking and developing solutions to support the industry. Relentless on their journey for excellence, Teleshore noticed a need in the industry for Memorial safety experts. 

Memsafe was launched in 2003 and has gone from strength to strength with teams all over the country.  Not only do they offer expert advice and risk assessments – they can also inspect, test and repair memorials - supporting the full Memorial Safety Management programmes needed in our industry.   As the Memsafe team has grown, so has their commitment to quality, with teams being CHAS certified, BRAMM registered and more of the team working towards NEBOSH qualifications too.

Richard Smith was instrumental in the set up of Memsafe and attended the first Memorial Safety assessment with the company in 2003.  Working alongside his college commitments, Richard supported Memsafe and the group of companies in his non college time.  Finally, Richard joined the company on a full time basis as Operations Director in 2006. 

His knowledge and wealth of experience in cemetery safety have enhanced the service offering to the group of companies, now including exhumation, doff cleaning and brick built vault solutions to name a few.

Throughout their journey, Teleshore, Gemini and Memsafe have all been supported by a dedicated, loyal team of staff, many who have been with the company for 10 years or more.  Jim Thomson retired from the business in 2019 and in 2024, Peter Smith stepped back and handed over the reins of the business to Richard Smith who now leads the Group of Companies into the next stage of growth in his position as Managing Director.
